Luan is CAVEA's dedicated Events Specialist. As a student employee at MSU Denver, Luan is pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), with a concentration in Business Analytics. He has developed his skills in statistics and communication by working for multiple teams under University Effectiveness, including Business Intelligence, Institutional Research, and Process Transformation. His steadfast service to CAVEA has catalyzed his excitement for the Hospitality and Events Industry, a natural complement to his background in multicultural customer service in Asia, Europe, and now America. In his free time, Luan enjoys exploring the artistry of video game graphics, drawing and martial arts.

Sean has a rich background in socio-economic data analytics. He enjoys working with complex data-based problems and producing informative visualizations. Sean holds a PhD in philosophy and spends part of his time outside the office living the examined life of a philosopher. His academic work includes university-level teaching, research, and publishing.

Kelsey has a natural enthusiasm for working with numbers and enjoys the critical-thinking essential in using data to solve complex problems. She earned a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs and Modern Language, a Master of Arts and Political Science, and is now pursuing an additional degree at MSU Denver in Statistical Science. A dedicated Roadrunner, Kelsey worked previously in MSU Denver’s College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences Dean’s Office, and is thrilled to continue her service to the university in her role as Junior Business Intelligence Analyst. In her free time, Kelsey is all about weightlifting, baking, and building computers in order to completely dominate her competition in online gaming.

Bio:

A dedicated Roadrunner for over 40 years, Ellen attended college as a first-generation low-income student who earned her bachelor’s degree from MSU Denver in 1977. After graduating, she transitioned from her part-time job in the Budget Office to work full-time in Institutional Research. Her work at the university now spans 38 years, where she has served in various roles, from grassroots to Director. Ellen works as a data detective who closely examines and develops how data is presented, ensuring that IR provides accurate information in response to the needs of the university. A seasoned soccer player on the side, Ellen loves taking her granddaughter to many of the sporting events to cheer on MSU Denver. Ellen treasures their time together, which also doubles as an opportunity to introduce higher education to the next generation and pass on that same Roadrunner spirit.

Coming from a background as a first-generation low-income student, Laura has made it her vocational mission to advocate student success and equal access. She received a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and served in multiple student support positions across the country. Recognizing data as a powerful tool to promote equity and inclusiveness, she continued to develop her expertise in research methodology, earning a doctorate in Educational Psychology-Quantitative Methods.  Laura has worked in an array of institutional research and assessment roles and is fascinated with enhancing organizational learning through strategic uses of data collection, analysis and dissemination.

A Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Lean practitioner, Sarah enjoys facilitating collaborative conversations and supporting people as they navigate through change. Sarah is an idea generator and thrives on building relationships and creating environments that foster sustained transformation. In her free time Sarah can be found engaging in a wide variety of activities including antiquing, river floating, or busting a move in her hip-hop dance class.

Pursuing her degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Management, Savannah has joined the Processes Transformation team, serving as Student Process Improvement Coordinator. Her role supports enriching opportunities to help cultivate a positive culture of continuous improvement and change within our university. Beyond her work for multiple offices at MSU Denver, on top of her dedication as a student, Savannah enjoys engaging in her passions including her yoga practice, hiking, and her dog and cat.

Born and raised in Colorado, Ned’s childhood of secret decoder rings in cereal boxes led to a fascination with world languages and various forms of communication. Later, living many years in Europe, he developed multi-lingual proficiency and an appreciation for new approaches to systems and solutions. Ned enjoys combining organization and design to create simplified and sustainable structures, crafted between sips of the occasional espresso.
