 MSU DENVER STUDENT DIRECTING ONE-ACT PLAYS A.K.A. 'THE DIRECTING PROJECTS'

 

 WHAT:

  • Each semester the MSU Denver Theatre Department presents two nights of student directed one-act plays. Students from the THE3280 Stage Directing class cast, design, and direct their one-act with actors from the school and the Denver region.
  • Plays rehearse an average of four (4) hours per week for the five (5) weeks leading up to performances.
  • Admission to the performances is free and general admission seating.

 WHEN:

  • Auditions occur in week nine (9) of each semester.
    • Fall 2019 Auditions: August 15 & 16, 2019 (4pm-8pm) in Arts 271.
    • Spring 2020 Auditions: March 16 & 17, 2010 (4pm-8pm) in Arts 271.
  • Performances are on the Wednesday and Thursday evenings during the last week of classes (the week before Finals Week).
    • Fall 2019 Performances: December 4 & 5, 2019 (7pm) in Arts 271
    • Spring 2020 Performances: May 6 & 7, 2020 (7pm) in Arts 271

WHO:

  • YOU!
  • Anyone may audition! No experience necessary!
  • Auditions take place in ARTS 271.
    • Sign-up sheets are posted on the Theatre Callboard.
    • For auditions – you can:
      • Present a ‘cold-reading’ from one the scripts that are available on the Theatre Callboard, OR
      • Present a memorized monologue (one-minute time limit).
