These applications include popular tools like SOLIDWORKS, SPSS, MATLAB, and Mathematica. With this service, students can conveniently use these tools from any device, without being restricted by physical lab hours or the need for a VPN (Virtual Private Network).
Powered by Apporto, a cloud-native service, the Virtual Computer Lab replaces the existing Citrix virtual lab environment. Apporto efficiently streams virtual desktops and applications directly to web browsers, ensuring seamless access for students.

How do you access the Virtual Computer Lab?
To access the Virtual Computer Lab:
- Open Your Web Browser: Launch your preferred web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, Opera, or Firefox).
- Navigate to the Login Page: Go to the Apporto login page at msudenver.apporto.com.
- Log In: Use your MSU Denver email address and password to log in.
- Explore Available Virtual Machines: Once logged in, you’ll be redirected to the Apporto Home page. There, you’ll find a list of virtual machines you have access to.
- Open the Virtual Machine: Click the “Launch” button below the icon of the virtual machine you want to use.

Follow these tips for saving files when using the Virtual Computer Lab:
- Use OneDrive: Apporto allows you to save files directly to OneDrive, MSU Denver’s cloud storage solution for easy file transfers.
- Save Frequently: Remember to save your work often to cloud storage, especially if your network is unreliable.
- Always Save Before Your Session Ends: When your session ends, the desktop is refreshed, so any unsaved files will be lost unless stored in a location accessible by your device or outside the virtual desktop.
