New Semester Technology Checklist

WELCOME TO SPRING 2019!

Information Technology Services (ITS) would like to help you prepare for the new semester by providing a useful technology checklist. If you encounter any technology-related issues, please contact the ITS Helpdesk at 303-352-7548 or support.msudenver.edu. Please note that hours of the walk-up service desk locations (AD 475 and WC 243) recently changed to Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Set up password recovery options for your MSU Denver NetID.

MSU Denver’s password reset process has been updated to a quicker, easier, more secure Office 365 solution. Step-by-step instructions for setting up NetID password recovery options are available at the Password Reset webpage. 

Contact the ITS Helpdesk if you need additional software and equipment in your classrooms.

Check to make sure that the classrooms you will be teaching in have all the necessary hardware and software that you will need for your classes. To request or check out equipment, contact the ITS Helpdesk at 303-352-7548 or submit a request at support.msudenver.edu.

If you need immediate tech support in a classroom, please call the phone number posted in the room.

Update your laptop by connecting it to the MSU Denver "wired" network or bring it to the ITS Helpdesk.
Make sure that your laptop has been updated by connecting it to the MSU Denver "wired" network. After you've connected to the network, restart your computer to ensure that all of the necessary updates have been applied. If you would prefer to have ITS update your laptop, bring it to either of the ITS Helpdesk locations - AD 475 (in the Administration Building) or WC 243 (in the West Classroom).
Reset your Web browser.
Resetting your browser on a monthly basis is a good way to increase performance and resolve any issues with Web-based systems, including Blackboard Learn. Instructions for resetting the various browsers are available at sites.msudenver.edu/etc/blackboard-learn-tutorials/browser-issues.
Verify that your syllabi include the ITS Helpdesk contact information.

Make sure that your syllabi have up-to-date information on how to contact the ITS Helpdesk: 

  • Phone: 303-352-7548 
  • Online: support.msudenver.edu
  • Walk-in: AD 475 (in the Administration Building) or WC 243 (in the West Classroom)
    Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • One-on-one Blackboard Learn assistance: is available in WC 243 Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also inform students that if they experience issues finding information (e.g., course content, quizzes, tests, assignments) within your Blackboard Learn course, they should contact you directly before contacting the Helpdesk.
