Note: Virtual Support is intended for questions that take 10-15 minutes to answer. If there are others in the queue, the specialist assisting you will strictly adhere to this guideline.
This drop-in support line connects instructors with a member of the CTLD Instructional Design staff. After clicking the support link, instructors will join a Microsoft Teams meeting where they will be greeted and asked for an MSU email and a brief description of their question. Due to the volume of drop-ins, instructors will be contacted in a separate Teams call by an instructional design specialist a few minutes after being greeted.
The Instructional Design group can help you with technical tools, but their specialty is in instructional design techniques and best practices. Some questions regarding technical tools (Teams, ProctorU, YuJa, etc.) not working properly will be directed to IT instead, as they are the appropriate department to handle these issues. Questions regarding course management in Banner or enrollment of students/teachers/TAs should be directed to department chairs. Lastly, any questions regarding CTLD development cycles or other CTLD programs will be directed to the appropriate CTLD contact.
If instructors are having issues with publisher tools or any third-party applications not institutionally supported, please contact the publisher representative or the third-party vendor directly for assistance.
