An image in your course or a document may need a fairly long description to accurately describe the content of the image. This is when it’s handy to add a long description to the image. In most cases, long descriptions are available to all users. However some programs or websites may not fully utilize long descriptions. Because of this, we recommend you also consider adding a caption to the image as well.
Before writing a long description, be sure you have presented the visual in the larger context of a document, presentation, or web page.
