Illuminate brings together MSU Denver students for a one-day experience designed to grow confidence and connections to create change in our local communities.
Mission and Goals of Illuminate 2018:
- Bring students at MSU Denver together
- Increase self-awareness through introduction of Emotional Intelligence Work
- Increase awareness of Denver-Area resources, organizations, and socially responsible leaders and organizations.
- Increase awareness of assets in addressing ongoing community challenges.

2018 Service & Leadership Sites:
Project Angel Heart
Our mission is to deliver nutritious meals to improve quality of life, at no cost, for those coping with life-threatening illness. Participants at this site will be preparing meals.
Food Bank of the Rockies
We help families thrive by efficiently procuring and distributing food and essentials to the hungry through our programs and partner agencies. Participants at this site will sort and organize food and supplies at a large wearhouse.
Metro Caring meets people’s immediate need for nutritious food while also sustainably addressing the root causes of hunger and poverty. Using a multifaceted approach, Metro Caring is innovative in how it solves problems related to hunger, with programming offered in Healthy Foods Access, Nutrition Education, and Self-Sufficiency.
Project C.U.R.E. is the largest provider of donated medical supplies and equipment to developing countries around the world. Participants will be sorting and packaging medical supplies at a large wearhouse.
Girls Inc. of Metro Denver inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through life changing programs and experiences that help girls navigate barriers and reach their full potential. Participants at this site will be giving back through space improvements.
