(DENVER) —Metropolitan State University of Denver, Center for Visual Art invites alumni, current students, faculty, staff, community members and friends to join us in celebrating our 25th Anniversary and MSU Denver’s 50th Anniversary. On July 17, 2015 from 4-8 p.m., we will host an outdoor celebration at the CVA filled with art, music, food, drink and fun supplied by MSU Denver alumni.

The celebration truly started with the opening of VAULT: MSU Denver Alumni Exhibition on May 22. The exhibition will be on view during our street fair on July 17th. Every five years, The CVA reflects on the creative output of the MSU Denver art department by presenting some of the best alumni artwork. VAULT features work from over 40 alumni and our 25th Anniversary celebration is the perfect time to see the exceptional works ranging from sculpture, painting, photography, embroidery and more.

The parking lot outside of CVA will be transformed into an open-air festival, complete with a shaded seating area or “parklet” designed and installed by current MSU Denver Industrial Design students. The outdoor space will be loaded with fun things to do. Art demos and an art market plus MSU Denver club tents including: printmaking, jewelry, clay, photography, drawing, painting, and our very own 965 Gallery tent. Featuring authentic homemade Latin American food from Freddy’s Cuisine food truck, sweet treats from Cake Crumbs bakery and beer provided by Tivoli Brewery, you’re sure to find something delicious at the festivities. In addition to on-site gaming from Oh Heck Yeah, we’ll get the party moving with music from local bands Bedlam Bastards, Sierra Hotel, Johnny Friendly and more!

CVA has dedicated 25 years to making important contributions to visual art offerings available in Denver and the Rocky Mountain West, bringing in art that would not otherwise be seen here, and has also made its mark as an educational, interactive art laboratory for MSU Denver students and the larger community. We hope you will join us in celebration of CVA’s 25th year as a vital part of MSU Denver, the arts, and the greater community as a whole.

The Center for Visual Art is located at 965 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, Colorado 80204. 303.294.5207 www.msudenver.edu/cva
