(Denver)—Today MSU Denver President Stephen Jordan announced the appointment of Steve Kreidler as vice president for administration, finance and facilities. Kreidler will start Aug. 15 subject to approval by MSU Denver Board of Trustees.
A seasoned finance and economic development expert with 30 years of experience, Kreidler has been with the University of Central Oklahoma (OCU) since 2001, where he served as Vice President of Administration and most recently Executive Vice President. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director, Edmond Economic Development Authority for nearly a decade.
At MSU Denver, Kreidler will serve as the chief financial officer and oversee the departments of budget, finance, facilities and human resources. Kreidler’s starting salary will be $200,000.
In making the announcement Jordan said, "Kreidler has been walking the walk on student-centered service for the last decade. He will bring a wealth of experience to Denver and Colorado, and further MSU Denver through his unique blend of economic development and higher education policy.”
Jordan added that the VP position is pivotal to MSU Denver’s continued success, particularly in light of shrinking higher education funding both at the national and local level.
”Holly and I could not be more excited to become a part of the MSU Denver family. I believe deeply in the University’s mission as a place of opportunity and transformation. The student-centered leadership of President Jordan, the MSU Denver Board of Trustees, and everyone connected with MSU Denver are the most important reasons behind my decision. I look forward to working with the team to forever change the arc of the lives of our amazing students.”
Kreidler holds an MBA (leadership) and is in progress on an Ed.D. in higher education and adult learning.
