With a background in higher education, health care and software, Nick Pistentis was hired in early March as director of User Support Services for Information Technology Services (ITS) following a national search. In his new role, Pistentis serves as the chief user advocate for the MSU Denver community, overseeing critical services including the Help Desk, training, outreach, desktop support services and repair, among others.

“I plan to engage our users in various ways and ensure that I understand their technology challenges to help ITS effectively prioritize future investments and initiatives,” said Pistentis. “We are focused on furthering the University’s core mission through direct student support and enabling faculty and staff to enhance the student experience.”

Pistentis earned his master’s in information technology management from George Washington University, where he subsequently worked for seven years in information technology. He spent four years working for a health care and higher education consulting and technology firm in Washington, D.C. before moving to Denver to work for a software company.
