Late yesterday, the Joint Budget Committee (JBC) approved the proposed state capital budget, which includes an appropriation of $14.8 million for MSU Denver’s Aerospace and Engineering Sciences (AES) building. The appropriation represents the full amount requested by MSU Denver of the state. The University’s AES building was one of only nine higher education projects recommended for funding from the JBC.
The building will house MSU Denver’s innovative AES initiative, which will unite advanced manufacturing disciplines under one roof. By integrating core curricula and providing experiential learning opportunities in a state-of-the-art environment, the University will help create exceptionally qualified and educated professionals ready to meet Colorado’s aviation, aerospace and advanced manufacturing needs.
