March 16, 2015

Assistant Professor of Biology Sheryl Zajdowicz will present “Measles Outbreak: More than a Speckled Mess” on March 19 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Science Building, Room 1067.

Zajdowicz, an expert in pathogenic microbiology, infectious disease and immunology, will address the measles virus, its symptoms, why it’s a problem, the current outbreak, the vaccine and why vaccination is so important. The Denver Post recently reported that Colorado kindergarteners have the nation’s lowest vaccination rate.

MSU Denver’s Biology Club organized the event following a successful program addressing the Ebola crisis last fall. The lecture is free and open to the public. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
