Student Spotlight
The MHA is excited to share stories that feature our students and alumni.
Tech startup has prescription for ailing health care workforce pipeline
MHA Alumna Kayla Wright-Jackson founded Transition, a tech platform built to bridge the gap between vocational training and employment opportunities and help fill entry-level front-line roles — such as CNAs and medical assistants — who are responsible for 85% of direct patient care.
Better ingredients for better health
MHA Student, Thalia Rodriguez ( photo right), co-created Salud! En Nuestra Comunidad to address food insecurity and healthy nutrition for Latinx communities. The project introduces alternative ways to cook traditional dishes and centers on the shared communal experience of sitting down for a meal. As an employee with the Jefferson Center for Mental Health, Thalia Rodriguez has firsthand experience helping people navigate the complexities of the U.S. health care system.
