Dr. Maria Akrabova, Department Chair and Associate Professor
Maria Akrabova, Ph.D. is the chair of the World Languages Department and Associate Professor of Spanish. Maria received her M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics and Translation from Sofia University and her Ph.D. in Latin American Narrative from the University of Kansas. She has received prestigious honors for her teaching excellence including the Mortar Board Award for Teaching Excellence (2007) and the Educator Contribution Award, from MANA: A National Latina Organization (2007).
