Bio:

Dr. Badanes' research training is in physiologic stress reactivity. Specifically, she examine how the body responds to stress in several different populations, including depressed moms (both pre and post-natal), infants, preschoolers and adolescents. Much of this work has been conducted with recent immigrants and with families living in extreme poverty. She is also trained in clinical interviewing with participants who may be experiencing different forms of psychopathology (e.g. anxiety, depression, bipolar).

Dr. Helton is a former hospital and health system administrator, focusing primarily on delivery of health care services through "safety net" health care organizations that specialized in care to the poor. His research work focuses on services to safety net populations and operational efficiency in health care organizations. He is co-author of the text Health Care Operations Management – A Systems Perspective.

Bio:

Dr. Itin is a social worker and works with Adolescents, Children, Families,  and his research interests include: HIV/AIDS, Veterans, Drug and Alcohol, Court mandated clients, and much more.  He has sought to combine social work with work in outdoor adventure and wilderness contexts for much of his career. In the pursuit of combining these areas, he deepened his knowledge of experiential education, group work and experiential practice. These elements make up the majority of his professional writing and presentations.
