What are Practicum and Internship?

Practicum and Internship are academic classes that comprise the field experience. The practicum course is the first class you take in the field series and the Internship course is your senior, culminating experience in the department. As such, Internship is the last course you will take at MSU Denver prior to starting your career! Both classes require reflections papers, in-class discussion and assignments, and meet for two hours and fifty minutes. The faculty teaching these field courses support your growth and development as professionals as well as help you navigate the feelings you will experience as you begin to work with clients in complex organizations. The aim of the classroom experience is for you to apply the theories and academic concepts you’ve learned to the context of your field work.
