The Learning & Development Office provides a variety of opportunities for all employees at MSU Denver to seek the learning they need to stay up to date with individual and professional skills and knowledge. The newsletter lists upcoming webinars, workshops, conferences and other learning available to MSU Denver employees. Keep in mind that new opportunities are regularly becoming available through the L&D Office. Watch your email for notifications from or visit the L&D Calendar.

TerminalFour New User Training

For new users, you will gain access to the TerminalFour Web Content Management System. Training will cover how to update web pages, import photos, upload documents and use the basic tools needed to update and maintain your department/program/service web site.

This training is required for all Web Authors. Supervisor authorization is required.

Employee Tuition Benefit Info Session

Permanent, benefits-eligible employees can apply to receive an undergraduate tuition benefit for themselves, their spouse, and/or their dependents. The application deadline to use the Tuition Benefit for summer 2019 is June 7, 2019 and for fall 2019 is August 16, 2019. Once posted the application will be available on the Learning & Development Benefits web page.

**It is the employee’s/student’s responsibility to read and understand the terms and conditions of the Tuition Benefit. To help employees/students understand the Procedures, this informational session will:

  • Show you where to find the Tuition Benefit Procedures and Application on the Learning & Development website.
  • Summarize the Tuition Benefit Procedures, especially important points regarding eligibility, rules and procedures.
  • Provide an opportunity to ask Tuition Benefit related questions of key MSU Denver employees from the Learning & Development office, Admissions, Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar and Office of the Bursar.

Entrepreneur Development Program

This training teaches an entrepreneurial mindset, how to recognize opportunities, and how to analyze a new venture.  This mindset is applicable to for profits, non-profits, educational, and governmental organizations. The College of Business has purchased five seats so contact Lynn Hoffman ASAP.

Gatekeeper Training

The MSU Denver Counseling Center, Health Center at Auraria, the MSU Denver Dean of Student’s Office and its CARE Team have partnered to offer "Gatekeeper Trainings: Identifying and Referring Students at Risk" for the Spring 2019 semester. These professional development opportunities are intended to train staff to recognize/identify student behaviors and actions that would likely benefit by an appropriate referral to one of the University sponsored agencies who can assist students in addressing their needs.  

These sessions are open to all Faculty and Staff who routinely encounter students as part of their work responsibilities. The sessions last for two hours and advanced registration is required. Attendance is specifically encouraged for those with little to no mental health, crisis or early intervention training but all personnel are welcome.

All sessions present the same content and are held in JSSB 304.

Roadrunners Lunch Buddies Program (Community)

Are you interested in expanding unity across staff here at MSU Denver? If so, this is the program for you. Created to aid in the discovery of cohorts around campus, this program allows employees, both new and seasoned, to feel part of the MSU Denver community.

Wells Fargo

MSU Denver has a partnership with Wells Fargo to deliver financial wellness coaching and training on topics such as general financial health, home buying and retirement advising. There are two options for assistance:

  1. Schedule a time for individual financial wellness coaching
  2. Schedule a time for Wells Fargo to come and speak with your team on a specific financial wellness topic

Academic Impressions (AI) offers training and professional development specific to higher education. All employees at MSU Denver have free access to most of AI’s live and recorded webcasts. While many more topics are covered, below is a highlight of the webcasts available. Even if you cannot attend the live webcast, you will be able to view it as a recorded webcast once it is released in that format. The Colorado State Employee Assistance Program (C-SEAP) has been available as a confidential resource to state employees for over 30 years. In addition to short-term counseling, referrals and resources, C-SEAP also provides training and organizational development services free of charge to state employees. Below are trainings that will be offered on campus, as well as through Webinars

Webinar: Introduction to C-SEAP for ALL Employees

Learn about counseling, consultation, coaching, mediation and training services available free-of-charge to all state employees. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of C-SEAP staff regarding available services.
