Here's a list of frequently asked questions from the MSU Denver community.


Metropolitan State University of Denver is a non-residential commuter campus. This means we do not provide on-campus housing to our students.

Yes we can help you. For more information on emergency housing, check out our overnight shelter options in Denver.

If you need immediate assistance during office hours, contact the Dean of Students Office at 303-615-0220 to discuss your specific situation with a case manager. If you need help after normal business hours you can call 211 from your phone to receive information on emergency shelters in your area.

As MSU Denver does not offer campus housing, we cannot assist you with finding a place to live. However, our Housing and Commuter Resources website provides a list of housing options and resources for students to consider as they look for a place to live or roommate.

We encourage students to research the apartment buildings or property management companies they chose to rent from. Here is a link to the Better Business Bureau to review the company.

Beyond these online resources, students who need emergency housing can schedule an appointment with a case manager in the Dean of Students Office by calling 303-615-0220 or visiting Tivoli 311. We’re here to help!

We cannot assist you in finding a roommate, however, MSU Denver has partnered with roomsurf, a roommate-matching service to assist students in finding a roommate in the community.

 

Please note roomsurf is available ONLY to MSU Denver students.

  • How to access roomsurf:
    • Students must visit www.roomsurf.com to login using facebook credentials.
      • Note: A basic Facebook profile is required to access this service.
    • Students then use the following pass key to access roomsurf. This pass key is case sensitive.
      PASS KEY: MSUDRoommates1

The cost of living is different for every student depending on which housing option you choose. We recommend calculating your need and speaking with financial aid to determine the amount of loans you should accept.
