The benefits of recreation are endless.

The faculty within Recreation Professions Program believe that recreation is a subject worth studying and dedicating our lives to. We came into the Recreation Professions department from a variety of academic and practitioner settings, meaning that our students get the best of both worlds. Courses are taught by faculty with high academic achievements and standards, as all of our faculty have a PhD or Master's degree and have worked within the many fields of recreation. We believe that the union of academics and field experience is what makes our program superior.

"There is no greater opportunity for people to experience self-actualization and the spiritual renewal, creative expression, discovery and stimulation than leisure offers." (Reference)

We provide three academic concentrations for our student majors, so that they may better connect with others like themselves, while learning to provide exceptional recreation experiences to others. Our concentrations are Recreation Management, Therapeutic Recreation, and Recreation Generalist. (Click on the links to the left for more information about our program.)
