Our Integrative Health Care Program offers applied educational experience.

During their senior year, IHC/ITP majors must take a prerequiste one-credit internship orientation course (ITP 4500) followed by a three or six credit internship (ITP 4990).

IHC/ITP majors can also take a field experience course for one to twelve ITP elective credits (ITP 3980). For more information, go to MSU Denver's Internship Center.

 

ITP 4990 Internship in Integrative Health Care

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course allows the student to integrate and apply biological, psychological, sociological and cultural theories and all previously learned holistic health and wellness knowledge and skills to individuals in a health care setting. Under supervision, students will utilize all course work in collaborating with field experts in solving a problem related to holistic health and wellness. The student, the faculty member, and the health setting staff mutually agree upon the integrative therapeutic practice area of study and the internship site. (Senior Experience). Internship credits are calculated with 45 worked hours being equivalent to one credit.

Credits: 3 or 6
Prerequisites: ITP 4500

  • Enroll in ITP 4500 Professionalism Course (1) credit hour
  • To initiate the Internship Application Process you must have an authorized person within the identified organization agree to provide you with supervision, and can sign your official Internship Application.

ITP 3980 Field Experience in Integrative Health Care

The student, the faculty member, and the field experience supervisor mutually agree upon the integrative therapeutic practice area of study and the work site location. Field Experience credits are calculated with 45 worked hours being equivalent to one credit.

Credits: 1 to 12
Prerequisites: Permission of Health Professions Department
