About Our Program

A parent and a child during a home visit making silly faces at each other

Parents as Teachers (PAT), an evidence-based home visiting program for children birth to kindergarten entry predicated on the belief that parents are their children’s first and best teacher. Parent Educators provide guidance and activities to families with young children during twice monthly home visits and monthly Group Connections meetings.

Research shows that parents in PAT read more frequently to their young children and are more likely to enroll their children in preschool, both of which have been positively linked to school readiness and later school achievement.
