About Our Program

MSU Denver Early Family Literacy Program; Lisette Cabrera, MSU Denver student sits with a young child in a classroom holding a red ball

Early Family Literacy is a center-based multilingual part-time Colorado Universal Preschool Program.

Our goal is to support the youngest family members during their formative years through early childhood education programming. The program is offered in play-based, literacy rich classrooms for children ages 1 to 5. The structured setting fosters a love of learning and introduces routines and schedules to promote kindergarten readiness.

Parent and Child Together (PACT) Time

Families are encouraged to fully participate in their children’s learning and development—we believe parents and guardians are children’s best and first teachers. Parents are invited to engage with their children weekly during Parent and Child Together (PACT) Time. The program uses the National Center for Families Learning “Play with Purpose” curriculum, which provides materials and enriches the entire family through connection and relationship building. These family focused activities, crafts, and interactive reading events engage and empower our families with strategies to promote literacy in the home.
