About Adult Education

We offer adult education programs including English as a Second Language (ESL) literacy and language classes, opportunities to achieve a High School Equivalency diploma, and Career Training pathways that lead to employment.

Program services are designed to provide necessary digital skill development so adults may reach their academic goals and become empowered as workers, parents, and community members.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Program Contact: Robb Gallegos, Adult Education Program Manager

Classes provide learners the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills they need for language acquisition. Coursework includes digital literacy, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary development to guide students toward readiness for college and career. Classes are available in Westminster and Commerce City.

GED Preparation (High School Equivalency)

Program Contact: Milia Weiss, GED Coordinator

GED Preparation is designed for adults who have not yet acquired a high school diploma. Classes are available in English and Spanish. Teachers guide instruction in the content areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. Quarterly enrollment is available in August, October, January and March.

Parent to Paraprofessional

Program Contact: Robb Gallegos, Adult Education Program Manager

These career focused workshops provide training to explore paraprofessional job duties and introduces parents to employment opportunities in local school districts. This program prepares learners for the following:

  • Additional English language skills to attain the job (Must be at high-intermediate level to start.)
  • Job searches and interviews
  • Obtain the National Career Readiness Certificate
