Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
The Faculty Accompanying Students (FAS) Grant provides financial support to faculty members accompanying students to a professional conference or other professional event (e.g. competition, research site to collect data, etc.).
Each year, the Provost’s Office earmarks funding for the program which may be used by full-time faculty to cover their transportation, registration, and lodging expenses, when accompanying students to a qualifying conference or event.
The maximum award is $1,200 per faculty member per academic year and funds will be awarded until the annual funding for the FAS Grant program ($25,000 for the 2024-25 academic year) is exhausted.
Preference will be given to faculty who apply eight weeks in advance of the qualifying conference or event. There is no limit as to how early a faculty member may apply if the conference/event is within the same fiscal year.
To apply, faculty members must be full-time and comply with the Student Travel Advisor’s Role and Responsibilities.
Faculty are expected to share outcomes and/or “lessons learned” from experience with departmental or other faculty groups.
Yes, students must have secured their funding at the time of the faculty member’s application or at a minimum have started the process for securing funding.
For those with students who have already secured funding, please upload any appropriate travel or funding documents via the FAS Grant Application. For those still waiting for students to secure funding, once funding is awarded, please email documentation to [email protected].
Additional information on student travel funding opportunities may be accessed on the Student Travel Program site.
