Are you ready to join a School of Education program?

Most School of Education programs have a unique and/or supplemental application process.  Please read below to begin this process, depending on the program in which you wish to enroll.

If you are seeking a bachelor’s degree, or if you have already completed a bachelor’s degree and are interested in taking undergraduate classes to earn teacher licensure (we call this post-baccalaureate teacher licensure), please review the steps for Undergraduate Programs.

If you have completed (or will soon complete) a bachelor’s degree and you are interested in joining one of our master’s degree or graduate certificate programs, please review the steps for Graduate Programs.

Applying to Undergraduate and Post-Baccalaureate Programs

Are you an MSU Denver student yet?

You must apply through the university admission system and be accepted as a student at MSU Denver before you can complete your application to a School of Education program.

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION UNDERGRADUATE AND POST-BACCALAUREATE APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN YEAR-ROUND

If your application is submitted later than one week prior to the beginning of the semester, we cannot guarantee you will be accepted in time to begin classes.

Please note: if you would like to reapply to or withdraw from a School of Education undergraduate or post-baccalaureate program, please refer to the appropriate section below.


UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be formally admitted to the School of Education at the undergraduate and post-baccalaureate level, all prospective students must complete or meet the following requirements:

  • SCHOOL OF EDUCATION APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION – Completed application includes the Criminal History Agreement, Admission Handbook Information Checklist and the Workers’ Compensation Procedures. Please see the Admissions Handbook for details.
  • GPA* – Minimum 2.5 GPA (or higher) with 30 semester hours of credit completed or in progress.

*Students who do not meet this requirement can be provisionally admitted to the School of Education until the requirement is met.


HOW TO APPLY:

STEP 1: Meet with the appropriate advisor(s) – see the Admissions Handbook for details.

STEP 2: Read and review the Admissions Handbook (link below).

STEP 3: Complete the online application (link below).

NEXT STEPS: Submitted applications will typically be processed within 2 weeks of the submission date. Please plan accordingly if you need admission status to register for classes. Once processed, students will receive an acceptance email at their MSU Denver email address.

REAPPLY TO OR WITHDRAW FROM A SCHOOL OF EDUCATION PROGRAM
(Undergraduate/Post-baccalaureate Only)

If you were previously accepted to a School of Education undergraduate or post-baccalaureate program, and you have since become inactive with the university and were required to reapply to the university to attend again, you must submit a new application to the School of Education using the information above on this page.

If you are currently accepted to a School of Education undergraduate or post-baccalaureate program, and would like to request withdrawal from the program, please use the following button.

Applying to SOE Graduate Programs

Program Application Deadlines

SPRING START: Apply to the program by NOVEMBER 15th.

SUMMER START: Apply to the program by APRIL 15th.

FALL START: Apply to the program by JULY 15th.
