How the Tutoring Center can help your students succeed
The center offers free one-on-one and group tutoring sessions in a variety of subjects at several locations around campus.

The Metropolitan State University of Denver Tutoring Center is not just for students having difficulties with course material but is also for those looking to excel. The center offers free one-on-one and group tutoring sessions in a variety of subjects Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as a number of other services. Read more to see what the Tutoring Center can do for your students.
In addition to the Jordan Student Success Building 220 location, the Tutoring Center operates satellite locations in Administration Building 520 and West Classroom 258, with walk-in hours available.
General Academic Skills Tutoring:
For students in need of general academic assistance, the Tutoring Center offers assistance with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, navigating Blackboard, basic computer skills, essay organization, writing professional e-mails, reading/explaining syllabi and assignment directions, and general organizational and note-taking skills.
Tutoring for English, Elementary Algebra and College Level Math Accuplacer testing is also available on a walk-in basis during normal business hours.
Academic Skills Workshops:
Academic Skills Workshops guide students in developing skills that lead to long-term success in higher education and life in general, such as time management, essay planning and active reading. All sessions are held in JSSB 400.
Beyond Words is offered in collaboration with the English Department and hosted by lecturer Roger Green, Ph.D. The service helps students enhance reading abilities and provides reading support.
