A clean bill of health

Nationally recognized Accrediting Association for Ambulatory Health Care has re-accredited the Health Center at Auraria.

Health Center at AurariaThe nationally recognized Accrediting Association for Ambulatory Health Care has re-accredited the Health Center at Auraria.

AAAHC accreditation has only been achieved by approximately 25 percent of campus health centers.

The health center, an MSU Denver department that provides tri-institutional medical services to the Auraria campus community, was informed in February.

The center received ‚Äúsubstantially compliant‚ÄĚ ratings for all 23 required components of its on-site review, which included:

  • Quality of patient care
  • Organizational administration and governance structure
  • Patient and staff safety
  • Infection control
  • Health education
  • Mental and behavioral health
  • Radiology services
  • Risk management
  • Clinical documentation
  • Staff credentialing
  • Lab testing
  • Prescription drugs
  • In-house medical procedures

The AAAHC is the national accrediting agency for surgical centers and out-patient medical centers throughout the United States and seeks to ensure each accredited facility performs with consistent quality standards that follow evidence-based medical guidelines to ensure patient safety and reputable service delivery.
