If you read anything today, make it the Early Bird
Some thoughts from Cathy Lucas on MSU Denver’s new, more efficient internal communications tool.

Last Friday, we published our final issue of The Daily.
Taking its place is the Early Bird, a new publication strictly for our University community that will feature relevant information, announcements, infographics and a new title that defines our goal – your University news source waiting in your inbox each morning. My hope is that you’ll think of it like your coffee – essential to kick-start your day.
Some of the headlines will be direct links to the information or webpage you need, rather than a detailed story, eliminating an extra step. And we’ve added a new Friday wrap-up, where we’ll have a faculty or staff member on video highlighting what you might have missed this past week.
This makeover reflects many months of planning, and listening to faculty and staff who didn’t have time to read The Daily, and when they did, found the content didn’t always apply to them. We sought the talent of Ragan Communications to develop a visual concept and design of this new publication. This work was done with the support of the many great team members in Marketing and Communications and some of our key partners on campus. The Early Bird is the end result.
The Marketing and Communications team will still be telling the MSU Denver story through longer feature stories that will be published in a new and improved newsroom (coming in December) called the Insider. Some of those stories will show up in the Early Bird, but only if the information is particularly relevant and topical from your faculty and staff lens.
