CAS 3165 Organizational Identity
This course focuses on the communication foundations of organizational identity formation, maintenance and change. Course materials demonstrate the criteria of legitimate organizational identity as well as the procedures used to generate organizational identity both internally and externally. Students will identify how communication functions in the creation of organizational culture and how messages and actions create an identity for an organization in environmental contexts. Students explore organizational identity in selected case studies and investigate other organizations through ethnographic observations in assigned service learning experiences.
