April Schofield joined MSU Denver in January 2012. Her teaching portfolio includes: Personal Selling, Advanced Selling, Retail Marketing, Principles of Marketing, Sales Management, Business-to-Business Marketing, Magic of Marketing, Sport Sales, Coaching Sales Role Plays, and Business Communication. She also coaches and leads student teams at collegiate sales competitions across the country. Prior to beginning her academic career, April worked in professional sports, including roles with the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche. She was recognized as one of the National Basketball Association’s top sales professionals. April’s personal interests include marathon running and time with her husband and kids.

Mick Jackowski was a stockbroker before he sold stories to the media as a public relations professional in the sports industry. He started with the Buffalo Bills before becoming Electronic Media Coordinator for NFL International’s World League of American Football; Manager of Communications and Sponsorship Sales for the Major Indoor Lacrosse League; and, Director of Media Relations for the Arena Football League. Jackowski returned to school to earn his Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts and Doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado. He started his teaching career at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania when he and his wife, Jennifer, decided to settle in Colorado. Jackowski was co-CEO of GreenPlay, a parks and recreation consulting agency, named one of the fastest-growing firms in Colorado. Upon the birth of his twin daughters, Elaine and Kate, he sold his interest and returned to teaching as a faculty member in the Department of Marketing at MSU Denver. Here, Jackowski won innovative teaching awards for starting Brand Spanking New, a furniture company operated by students in a variety of marketing and industrial design courses. After earning early-tenure, he was named Director of the university’s Center for Innovation, a position he held for seven years before returning to his role as an Associate Professor of Marketing. Upon seeing its huge potential for growth and ability to help students maximize their potential, Jackowski joined MSU Denver’s Center for Professional Selling as a faculty member.

Clay Daughtrey is a Professor of Marketing and is the course coordinator for BUS 1850 – Introduction to Business. Prior to this, he served as the College of Business Associate Dean and as the Chair of the Marketing Department. In preparation for his academic career, Clay worked with many organizations in the sport and entertainment industry including, the Charlotte Coliseum, Disney on Ice, Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and the Olympics.

Tom Miller joined the marketing faculty of Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2019. Tom teaches Principles of Marketing, Introduction to Professional Sales, and Sales Management. In addition to working with students in the classroom, he supports the MSU Center for Professional Sales by preparing students for competitions, coaching them during competitions and mentoring them through the steps necessary to launch a career. Prior to joining MSU Denver, Tom taught at Western Colorado University where he began Western’s ProSales program. Tom brings three decades of business experience to each class he teaches. A career professional seller and entrepreneur, Tom’s work focused on building Symbolist, an employee engagement agency he founded in 1991. Symbolist’s work spanned major brands including JCP, Greyhound, ClubCorp and Ameriprise.
