Mick Jackowski was a stockbroker before he sold stories to the media as a public relations professional in the sports industry.  He started with the Buffalo Bills before becoming Electronic Media Coordinator for NFL International's World League of American Football; Manager of Communications and Sponsorship Sales for the Major Indoor Lacrosse League; and, Director of Media Relations for the Arena Football League.

Jackowski returned to school to earn his Master's Degree from the University of Massachusetts and Doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado.  He started his teaching career at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania when he and his wife, Jennifer, decided to settle in Colorado.  Jackowski was co-CEO of GreenPlay, a parks and recreation consulting agency, named one of the fastest-growing firms in Colorado.

Upon the birth of his twin daughters, Elaine and Kate, he sold his interest and returned to teaching as a faculty member in the Department of Marketing at MSU Denver. Here, Jackowski won innovative teaching awards for starting Brand Spanking New, a furniture company operated by students in a variety of marketing and industrial design courses.  After earning early-tenure, he was named Director of the university's Center for Innovation, a position he held for seven years before returning to his role as an Associate Professor of Marketing.  Upon seeing its huge potential for growth and ability to help students maximize their potential, Jackowski joined MSU Denver's Center for Professional Selling as a faculty member.
