Intramural eSports are here!!!

Just like all other traditional Intramural Sports offerings, current Campus Recreation members can participate in these events at no additional cost. Memberships fees are included in MSU Denver student-fees and one-day, drop-in memberships are available as well. Complete membership information can be found here.

Games will be played on XBOX One, PS4 and Switch with the intent of getting to PC gaming this next academic year!

We are currently designing one-day tournaments and weekly league-play for Madden 20, FIFA 20, Rocket League, NBA 2K20, NHL 20, Mario Kart Deluxe 8, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Fornite, Apex Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Hearthstone, Destiny, Magic the Gathering Arena and more!

 

The format for each tournament and weekly leagues will be determined based on the number of participants that register for each event. 

Be sure to check this website again as we get closer to the start of the fall 2019 semester to see confirmed dates and locations for all events.

 

The winner of each tournament will receive a special prize and bragging rights amongst their friends!

In addition to Traditional and eSport offerings, the Intramural Sports program will also host a couple of Special Events throughout the fall 2019 semester!

We are designing new special events for the fall semester, but past special events included Basketball Golf and Augmented Reality Climbing. 

Basketball Golf is a shooting contest where players take shots from 18 different spots on the court. The player who completes the course with the fewest shot attempts wins!

Augmented Reality Climbing is a bouldering contest where players take turns trying to complete a course or a challenge that is projected onto the wall from a computer. The player with the quickest completion time or the highest score wins! Check out the videos from Randori on this website for more information.

No registration needed, just show up to participate.

Team rosters need to consist of at least 5 players with a maximum of 10.

All players must be currently enrolled students at MSU Denver, CU Denver or CCD.

 

Registration opens on August 19, 2019

League play starts on September 9 at 6:30 p.m. on Center Court in the gym, PE104c

Kendra Montoya is a current student studying Exercise Science at Metropolitan State University of Denver and is striving to become a traveling Pediatric Physical Therapist. Born in Montrose, CO, Kendra was eager to branch out of the small town and move to a big city. In August of 2017, she joined the Facilities Operations team at MSU Denver Campus Recreation and quickly became involved in other program areas. After accepting a new and challenging position as a Sports Supervisor, Kendra now works with the Open Recreation and Intramural Sports Programs. Her hobbies include photography, social media marketing and of course watching the beautiful game of basketball!

Student Employment Opportunities

Campus Recreation will be interviewing and hiring Intramural Sports Officials and Supervisors for basketball, volleyball, indoor and outdoor soccer. We will provide training - no experience required to apply!
