Intramural Sports

The Intramural Sports program offers MSU Denver students and Campus Recreation members opportunities to participate in recreational sport leagues, tournaments and one-day events at no additional charge!

Major changes are coming to the Intramural Sports program in spring 2018 so be sure to check this page often for updated information on new sports, tournaments and one-time events!


Current and Upcoming Sports

Campus Recreation uses IMLeagues.com to facilitate the intramural program. Be sure to create your free account so that you can see specific information for each sport. Click on the IMLeagues.com link on the navigation bar on the left for information on how to register. 

Select a drop-down menu from below for more information per port. Check the Intramural Facebook page and IMLeagues.com page for updates and weather cancellations.

 

Eligibility

As of Spring 2018, all Intramural participants must be a Campus Recreation Member, with the exception of CU Denver students (see below).

All participants must go to the Front Desk (PE 108) during business hours to activate their membership, if they have not already done so.

  • MSU Denver and CCD students - receive free memberships, must present current class schedule and student ID.
  • CU Denver students - may purchase a membership at $70 with proof of enrollment (good through May 12, 2018) or they can purchase a $5 day pass for each day they wish to participate. Click here to purchase.
  • All others (Auraria Campus faculty/staff, MSU Denver spouse/alumni, or community members) please see Membership Page for prices and to make a purchase.

Games are on Monday nights on west and center courts in the gym. Games start at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30 p.m. Leagues start on Feb 5, 2018.

This league will be considered OPEN enrollment. There are no roster requirements for the number of males and females that must be listed.

Team rosters need to consist of at least 5 players.

We will be using Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) basketball rules with a few, small exceptions as detailed in the document below:

We are now offering intramural 6v6 volleyball!

Games are played on the west court in the gym on Wednesdays and  Thursdays between 4-7 p.m. Leagues start on Feb. 7, 2018.

This league will be considered OPEN enrollment. There are no roster requirements for the number of males and females that must be listed. Net height will be set at the men's official height. 

Team rosters need to consist of at least 6 players.

We are looking for teams to join our new indoor 5v5 soccer league!

Swing by Open Rec Soccer on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2:30-3:45 p.m. to meet other players and recruit for your team.

This will be a 5v5 league played on a basketball court with no goalies.

Games will be played on Tuesdays on west court of the PE Building between 4-7 p.m.

This league will be considered OPEN enrollment. There are no roster requirements for the number of males and females that must be listed.

 

The tuesday league is looking to start on March 6, 2018 but we need more teams! Contact us below for more information on how to get involved and let's play some games!

We are very excited to offer intramural badminton for the upcoming spring semester but we need more teams!

This will be doubles leagues or 2v2. If interest grows, we may offer 1v1 badminton.

Games will be played on Mondays between 4-6 p.m. on the west court in the gym. League start date to be determined.

This league will be considered OPEN enrollment and therefore there are no roster requirements for the number of males and females that must be listed.

Rosters need to have 2-3 players listed.

Join Campus Recreation on Fridays from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. for Friday Fundays co-sponsored by your Student Government Assembly!

Each afternoon we'll host different events such as dodgeball, wallyball, billiards, air hockey, grass volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, disc golf, backyard games, field days and more. The more Fridays you attend the more chances you have to win Friday Funday prizes and accumulate points towards being crowned the Intramural Champion of Champions.

Please register and create a profile on imleagues.com/msudenver to participate. Registration per event is highly recommended. Walk-up participation will be accepted pending availability.

NOTE: Some events are team sports, but you do not have to have a team to compete. Individuals can register and will be placed on a team.

Student Employment Opportunities

Campus Recreation will be interviewing and hiring Intramural Sports Officials and Supervisors for basketball, volleyball, indoor and outdoor soccer. We will provide training - no experience required to apply!
