Club Sports

The MSU Denver Campus Recreation Club Sports program provides the students, faculty, and staff of MSU Denver, CU Denver and the Community College of Denver an opportunity to promote and develop their individual athletic interests in an organized fashion with others who share the same interests. All clubs are student initiated with the emphasis on participation.

Use the drop-down menus below for more information about each club.

Auraria Ski and Ride is a try-institutional club that serves MSU Denver, CU Denver, and the Community College of Denver. Any students currently enrolled in any of these three schools are welcome to join.

The club provides a fun environment in which members progress as a skier/rider. The club also offers a chance to meet new friends, coordinate carpools, and find groups going up to the mountains. Our members also enjoy benefits such as discounts on services and at local restaurants.

The club welcomes skiers and riders of all ability levels. From those just wanting to get into the sport, all the way up to the most advanced riders; the Auraria Ski and Ride club offers something for everyone.

Events, meetings, and gatherings are held about twice a month during the season. In addition, the club also hosts equipment waxing parties, video screenings, parties, girl’s nights, and other fun activities.

Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) has a long history of fielding Club Baseball teams in the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA). For the 2018-2019 school year, the tradition continues…

There are a number of former NCBA baseball players who began their careers on the club team at their school before moving on to play for their NCAA Div. I or Div. II programs, while several others have gone on to play professional baseball in the independent leagues. Major League Baseball made full acknowledgement of the league’s talent when the Florida Marlins drafted Colorado State pitcher Nathan Nowicki in the 19th round of the 2003 Amateur Player Draft. Nate holds the designation of being the first player drafted out of the NCBA, but was certainly not the last.

Each season ends with the chance to play for a District title and thus the chance to play in the DII World Series at the end of the season.

MSU Denver Men's Club Lacrosse competes at the Division II level of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association, (MCLA). After many years of disorganization, the program was taken to a level of high competition before the 2015 season. Thanks to many dedicated players, coaches, and alumni we broke onto to national scene quickly, making our first trip to the conference championship during the 2016 season. After a tough loss, the team rallied the following season, capturing the program's first conference championship and bid to the National Championship tournament as one of the top 16 teams in the country. With the taste of the trophy still fresh in their mouths, the Roadrunners have no plans of giving up the title of RMLC Division II Champions. The 2019 season is fast approaching, and we are so excited to see all of you fans out in the stands this spring!
