Rocky Mountain Alliance Student Application

CO-WY AMP Students

Rocky Mountain AMP  supports students completing their degree program in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics disciplines.  RM-AMP’s mission is to build STEM equity and excellence.  This program provides services from building academic competency, supporting financial needs to navigating the hidden curriculum.  Examples of  services including individual peer tutoring, textbook program, research support, workshops, stipends for participation, program-specific scholarships, recognition of successes and tailored personal support.

CO-WY AMP Research

Research

The purpose of this Research/Grant program is to provide undergraduate RM-AMP students the opportunity to participate in student-initiated and faculty-supervised fall, spring and summer research. Research can be off campus, on campus or international. Your mentor can be a MSU Denver faculty member or a mentor from another facility or university.

There are four scholarships available to our RM-AMP Members. The Larry Johnson STEM Opportunity Scholarship (Johnson) and the CASE Scholarship in the Srping and Fall. The Ching-Chen, Shi-Kuei and Jeff Wu Scholarship (WU) in the Spring.

Participation

Participation Stipend

Accumulate Points Towards Your Stipend by participating in the following: Read the Welcome Letter, Newsletters and emails, Introduce yourself to a member of RM-AMP. Mentor a new RM AMP student. Attend RM-AMP monthly meetings, preapproved events and the recognition celebration.

Passport to Success

The purpose of this passport is to encourage you to attend activities that help gain skills for STEM careers and/or graduate programs while providing financial support. RM-AMP can also support you in the following examples: Cost of attending STEM conferences, Graduate School Entrance Exams, Graduate school application fees, and Professional organization membership Fees.

To help you succeed in your education, RM AMP provides faculty advising. As a RM AMP student, you are required to schedule an advising session with your discipline advisor each semester to remain active in the RM AMP program.

Student Travel Program

Deadline to apply for Student Travel funds:
30 days prior to the first date of travel

Travel must be related to the participant’s area of study or leadership position on campus.

The following forms of professional development are eligible for program participation:

  • Workshops
  • Workshops
  • Conferences/Conventions
  • Seminars

What will be funded:

  • Airfare and ground transportation
  • Event Registration
  • Lodging

The Student Travel Program does not provide funding for meals or other incidental expenses.

Funding Amounts:

  • Individual Funding – Eligible for up to $650.
  • Pair Funding- Eligible for up to $1,3000.
  • Group Funding- Eligible for up to $2,000.
