Department Work Study Positions

The Department of Theatre and Dance offers multiple work study opportunities. We offer paid work study positions in the front office, assisting the Dance faculty, in the costume shop and in the scene shop. You do not need to be a Theatre or Dance major to work with us. These positions are based on the student having a work study award and the needs of the offices or shops. Our job listings are an open pool for applicants, so applying to it does not mean hiring. If we are in need of a work study student, we will reach out to begin the hiring process. Below is the process for applying to be a work study student and our job listings:

1. Choose the position you would like to apply for:

Front Office Work Study

Costume Shop Work Study

Scene Shop Work Study

Log in to your Workday Account through the MSU website and in the search bar type “Find Student Jobs”. You will want to filter out the jobs by the Department of Theatre and Dance to see the 3 work study positions that we offer.

2. Begin onboarding process and apply for the work study award. The school requires you to apply for a FASFA or CASFA. You do not need to qualify for financial aid to receive a work study award; there are both need and no-need based awards.

Financial Aid – FASFA & CASFA

3. Once you are notified of your award acceptance, you can create a schedule with your supervisor and begin working.

The Costume and Scene Shop accept volunteers who would like to come and help for free. If this interests you, you need to set up a schedule with Chandra Gregg, Scene Shop Manager [email protected] and/or Connor Sullivan, Costume Shop Manager [email protected]

If you need assistance or information, feel free to reach out to Shelby Shepherd [email protected] our Front Office Manager and Student Advocate.
