This fund provides scholarships for students entering the University’s Dietetic Internship Program in honor of long-time, dedicated Department of Nutrition faculty members, Dr. Bruce Rengers and Dr. Cynthia Dormer. Dr. Rengers, who taught at MSU Denver for 14 years, dedicated his life to using nutrition as a way to make a positive difference in the health of communities worldwide. Having put himself through undergraduate and graduate school, Dr. Rengers knows what it means to pay for a hard-won education.
Dr. Dormer, who taught at MSU Denver for 16 years, worked throughout her career, at multiple levels, to support and advocate for students’ academic and professional success. As a student, she benefitted from mentors and scholarships and she aims to continue to pay this forward throughout the rest of her life through this scholarship and through continued advocacy work.
