Ready to find out what MSU Denver can do for you? We’ve got you covered.
Being involved with a sports team can be a vital part of staying healthy and is an excellent opportunity for a student to share their passion for sport with others. Campus Recreation’s three sport programs offer different ways to participate.
The Club Sports program provides an opportunity for students to develop their athletic interest with other students who share the same passion. All Club Sport teams are led by students, are very organized, have elected student-leadership boards, collect membership dues, practice regularly, travel off-campus and compete regionally and nationally to represent the University.
MSU Denver Club Archery is the newest addition to the Club Sports lineup! This competitive team is a great place for students looking to develop or hone their archery skills while representing MSU Denver on a regional – and hopefully national – level. The Club will be joining USA Archery’s Collegiate Archery Program and will begin competing soon. *Practices and competitions are off-campus*

MSU Denver has a long history of fielding Club Baseball teams in the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA). For the 2023/24 school year, the tradition continues…
There are a number of former NCBA baseball players who began their careers on the club team at their school before moving on to play for their NCAA Div. I or Div. II programs. Several others have gone on to play professional baseball in the independent leagues. Major League Baseball made full acknowledgement of the league’s talent when the Florida Marlins drafted Colorado State pitcher Nathan Nowicki in the 19th round of the 2003 Amateur Player Draft. Nate holds the designation of being the first player drafted out of the NCBA, but was certainly not the last.
Each season ends with the chance to play for a District title and thus the chance to play in the DII World Series!

The Intramural Sports program offers Campus Recreation members opportunities to participate in traditional sport and esports activities. Teams simply arrive near the start of their game and play on-campus in the gym. Campus Recreation provides game officials and develops the rules, and league play over the course of the semester is offered alongside one-day tournaments and events. There are no additional fees to participate.
An active Campus Recreation membership is required to participate, and this is an open-league with no gender-based requirements to play. Join a team, create a team and recruit other players, or list yourself as a free agent to get involved. NOTE: Free Agents are not guaranteed placement on a team.
For more information, email Dave Lamothe at [email protected]
