We are accepting applications for the 2024 MSU Denver Civic and Community-Engaged Excellence Awards.
Please consider applying or nominating fellow faculty to apply for this recognition of the outstanding efforts faculty make.
There are two awards, each $1500: Tenured/Tenure Track Faculty and Category II/Affiliate
The MSU Denver Civic and Community-Engaged Excellence Awards are designed to recognize and reward outstanding faculty engagement in the civic and community space, particularly emphasizing the connection of this work to student learning. The award is one way of demonstrating that these efforts are valued by the university. The awards honor individuals who demonstrate excellence through the following:
- Demonstrated commitment to engaging with the community through collaborative partnership(s) over time. (i.e., not a one-time event or activity, not a single semester)
- Evidence of curriculum, course modules, assignments, or other activities (in or beyond the classroom) that incorporate one or more of the student learning outcomes for civic and community engagement. This does not need to be explicit (i.e., it may not be spelled out in a syllabus) but should be evident from a description of the activity and any related evaluations or assessments.
- Evidence of positive impact on the community/community partner.
- We will consider all forms of teaching, as well as diverse forms of scholarship, when reviewing nominees; we encourage all interested faculty to consider applying for this prestigious award.
Application Process:
All applications must be received by September 30, 2024.
