Georgia Yuan, Consultant - AGB Search

Georgia Yuan and her firm, AGB Search, have been engaged to help begin the process of finding a new president to replace Stephen Jordan, who retires next June 30.Georgia Yuan is a Senior Consultant with AGB Search, a firm related to the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges and focused exclusively on assisting with searches in higher education. Her background includes serving in the administration of the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho and at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Ms. Yuan is also a leadership coach, a skill that she uses when identifying talent and attracting leaders to their positions at universities.

For over 25 years she served as a policy and legal advisor to institutions of higher education and most recently served as deputy under secretary at the U.S. Department of Education before turning to search work. She has held leadership positions with the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and served on the board of directors for HERS, Inc. an organization devoted to preparing women for administrative leadership in higher education. NACUA bestowed Life Membership on Ms. Yuan in 2016 in recognition of outstanding service and substantial contributions to the Association.

Her academic career began in geology and she holds a BA from Oberlin College in geology and a Masters Degree in Applied Earth Science from Stanford University. Her law degree is from the University of Idaho, which gave her the Award Of Legal Merit in 2014 recognizing a graduate whose career exemplifies the best in the legal profession and is based on demonstrated standards of integrity, competence, service and leadership.

Ms. Yuan will assist in this search by working closely with the search committee and actively recruiting candidates to the presidency.
