The Nutrition Department at MSU Denver offers an Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway (ISPP) with a clinical concentration. This ISPP is approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, #312-899-0040 ext. 5400, email@example.com.
The ISPP provides students with the supervised practice experience needed to fulfill the competencies to sit for the Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) examination established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
The supervised practice portion of the dietetics training requires a minimum of 1,200 hours divided among clinical nutrition, community nutrition and food service management.
To qualify for the ISPP students must have:
- a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university
- an overall GPA of 3.0 and a DPD GPA of 3.0
- at least 200 hours of clinical experience
- a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) verification statement from an ACEND-accredited DPD program
- must have applied but not matched to the most recent dietetic internship match cycle
- submit a professionalism essay in addition to essays required bt DICAS
- pay a $50.00 application fee
In addition, preference is provided to MSU Denver DPD students and applicants with prior leadership experience.
