CARE Team

*Consultation*Assessment*Referral*Education*

The CARE Team provides early assessment and referral when a student’s behavior is flagged as concerning, risky, or potentially harmful to self, others, or the community. The team makes a good faith review of the information provided and suggests a reasonable course of action to mitigate risk, considering the needs of the individual within the context of the community.  An ethic of care and attention to the safety and wellbeing of individual students, the campus, and community guides all recommendations.  As appropriate, every effort is made to help students persist at the University.

To achieve the above, the CARE Team relies on members of our community to share information when they observe student behavior that is concerning, risky, or potentially harmful. To share any such behavior, please file a CARE report.

For more information on when to make a report, what may happen with the information provided, and next steps after a CARE Report is filed, visit the Make a CARE Report and the Frequently Asked Questions sections.

Make a CARE report

Anyone can communicate observations about a MSU Denver student by filing a CARE report. Submitting a report is easy. Simply click CARE report and share as much information as you have. A member of the CARE Team will review your report within 1 business day.  Typically the first 'next step' is to check in with the person filing the report to discuss the report and to share possible actions to take to help support the student and the community.
