Summative Peer Observation

MSU Denver requires one summative peer observation prior to either a tenure decision or promotion. The results of that summative peer observation, in the form of a letter, should be included in the faculty member’s tenure and promotion or promotion-only portfolio.

*The deadline to request a Peer Observation for a Fall 2017 tenure submission is: Sunday, May 01, 2017.

Online Instructor Effectiveness and Presence

June 19 - 30, 2017

Specific topics to be covered in this workshop include:

  • The importance of defining course goals and learning objectives
  • The principles of adult learning and constructionist reflection to foster relationships and engage students in the learning process in an online environment
  • Establishing an online presence to enhance student engagement
  • Effective online pedagogical practices (fostering relationships, engagement, timeliness, communication, organization, technology, flexibility, and high expectations)

The content for the workshop will be based on readings and discussion. Faculty will be asked to apply these topics as they design and develop their online courses. Space is limited, please register by emailing Dr. Kolb.
