Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver

Transforming a Campus and a Community

Metropolitan State University of Denver transformed a blighted plot in Denver’s inner city into eight tennis courts, a soccer field, a baseball field and a softball field with a fitness trail. The total cost for the 13-acre athletic complex was $23.6 million.

The Roadrunners now have a complex where collegiate athletes train, fans celebrate and students exercise. Additionally, senior citizens from nearby neighborhoods (La Alma, Lincoln Park, Sun Valley and Val Verde) will use the walking path, while children from those underserved communities will play organized sports in an exceptional facility that is their home turf.

‌Metropolitan State University of Denver has teamed up with the community on a game-changing neighborhood revitalization project.

Reaching Our Goals

Metropolitan State University of Denver contributed $6 million toward the overall cost of $23.6 million for this project—proof that we are serious about providing this gift to Denver citizens.

We also accepted a $1 million naming rights agreement from Regency Student Housing community, which provides an off-campus living community for our students. We invite you to also partner with us as we restore a pocket of our city and enhance the health, wellness and spirit of the Denver community.
